Officer Fowler began proudly serving the citizens of Villa Rica in April 2012 as a night shift patrolman. He was assigned to day shift patrol in early 2014, where he served as an FTO (field training officer). In December 2014 he was assigned to the Special Operations Division as a member of the Traffic Unit. In early 2015 Officer Fowler became the new K9 Handler for the Villa Rica Police Department. Officer Fowler has a desire to help those in need, and add to the betterment of society. He grew up in the West Georgia area, and enjoys being able to make a difference locally. Bono is a highly trained three year old Belgian Malinois. He is a patrol service dog (PSD), and certified through the National Narcotic Detection Dog Association (NNDDA). Bono was born in the Netherlands, and trained in Georgia. He has been with the Villa Rica Police Department since March, 2015. Bono is currently partners with Officer Drew Fowler.
Bono is trained in the following tasks: detection of narcotics, criminal apprehension, article search, tracking/trailing, and handler protection. Bono is extremely dedicated to his job, and loyal to his partner.
