Responsibilities

The Villa Rica Historic Preservation Commission focuses on the research of local history, preservation of properties and artifacts and education of the community to advance the cause of historic preservation. The goal of the Villa Rica Historic Preservation Commission is to preserve the spirit and symbols of the city's past, while embracing the growth of the city's future.

Meetings
The Villa Rica Historic Preservation Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Holt-Bishop Justice Center; located at 101 Main Street, Villa Rica, Georgia at 6:00 P.M. All meetings are open to the public.

Appointment Term
Members shall serve three-year terms. In order to achieve staggered terms, initial appointments shall be: one (1) member for one (1) year; two (2) members for two (2) years; and two (2) members for three (3) years.

Attendance
Members who fail to attend three consecutive meetings during any one-year period may be removed. The Chairperson shall notify the City Council of any member who shall so fail to attend. The vacancy may be filled, upon recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission.
